Student Guardian Visa

A parent or legal guardian must accompany an international student who is under the age of 18.
In order to apply for this visa, you must be able to provide the student with accommodation, support, general welfare and meet general visa requirements.

Basic Requirements

  • must be 21 years of age or older
  • must have legal custody/guardianship over the student
  • must be able to provide accommodation, welfare and support
  • must meet health and character requirements



A Student Guardian visa is valid for the same period as the student you are accompanying, or until they turn 18 years old.

If you are granted a Student Guardian visa, you must have enough financial means to support both yourself and the student as you are not permitted to work on this visa. You are allowed to study a course for up to months.
